Meet Manjeeve
Meet Manjeeve, a Game Development enthusiast who reignited a long-forgotten passion and turned it into a promising career. Originally from Mauritius, Manjeeve moved to Australia for university, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering. When the job market proved challenging post-graduation, Manjeeve saw this as an opportunity to pursue his dream of creating games, leading him to enroll in Circuit Stream’s Game Development Bootcamp.
Discovering Game Development
Having worked on Unity projects during his studies, Manjeeve was no stranger to game creation. His interest grew after building his first PC and revisiting gaming as a passion. Encouraged by the support of family and friends, he decided to take a leap into the Game Development Bootcamp, blending his technical knowledge with creativity.
“To me getting into the gaming industry was like a fantasy because it was like a dream job. With the great support of my family and friends, I decided to take the risk into a Game Dev Bootcamp without any expectations.”
Experience in the Game Development Bootcamp
The Game Development Bootcamp became a transformative experience for Manjeeve, helping him develop both technical and personal skills. A highlight of the experience was collaborating with his classmate Trevor on their Capstone Project, which was showcased on Pitch Day. Overcoming the challenges of coordinating across time zones between Canada and Australia, the experience reinforced his determination to build a career in the game industry.
The bootcamp also offered valuable career preparation through one-on-one sessions. These sessions helped Manjeeve navigate the professional field, equipping him with the tools to network confidently at game jams and networking events.
“I have been to many game jams and networking events such as PAX AU 2023, GDC 24 and PAX AU 2024. Thankfully I was able to be prepared when networking because of my 1:1 sessions. Being in a room of game creators has been very valuable to me.”
Landing a Role in the Game Industry
Manjeeve’s hard work and commitment paid off when he secured a role as a Junior QA at Big Ant Studios. He credits Circuit Stream’s bootcamp and its career support, alongside his persistence and passion, for helping him take this significant step.
“It really helped with a good start and made the game career roadmap much clearer for me. Making games for my portfolio definitely helps. The biggest help has been the 1:1 sessions. It helped identify what I lacked and what steps I should take to fix it"
